Gujarat Arts & Science College, Ahmedabad organized a Library Orientation Programme for the students of B.A. Semester-1 and B.Sc. Semester-1 on 8 September 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Gandhi Hall.

During the programme, Dr. Sandip Patel, Librarian, Veer Shahid Vinod Kinariwala Library, provided students with information about the college library, its collection, facilities, services and various resources available for academic purposes.

Students were introduced to the OPAC facility, e-resources, digital library services, reading room, reference resources, competitive examination resources and other library facilities. Information was also provided on the effective use of library resources and services for their studies, assignments and examinations.

Following the orientation programme, the students were taken to the library, where practical training was provided on the use of library facilities and resources. The students were guided on locating books through the OPAC, using library resources and making effective use of the various services available in the library.

The programme helped the newly admitted students become familiar with the library and encouraged them to make effective use of its resources and services for their academic and learning needs.
